Wilton Peter Batiste, was born on April 29, 1932, to Paul Prince Batiste and Antonia Lewis Batiste in Lacombe, Louisiana.
Wilton pursued his education at Martindale and St. Tammany High School. In 1967, he united in holy matrimony with the late Dorothy E. Batiste. Their loving union spanned forty devoted years, until her passing in 2007.
Wilton dedicated many years of service to Great Lakes Steel in Detroit, Michigan. A man of deep faith, he accepted Christ as his Savior at a young age and remained steadfast in his walk throughout his life. He was an active and faithful member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, where he served as an usher, known fondly for sharing mints with the congregation.
Beyond his spiritual life, Wilton found joy in fellowship and community. He was a cherished member of the Soul Stars Biker Club and valued the strong bonds of his biker family. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and following baseball.
Wilton Batiste, aged 93, passed away peacefully. He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Calvin Bo Wynn, Jr.; his grandson, Sean Wynn; his great-grandchildren, Sean II, Malik, and Shamar; his brothers, Milton Batiste and Raymond Batiste; and his sister, Pauline Cousin.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy E. Batiste; his parents, Paul Prince Batiste and Antonia Lewis Batiste; his brothers, Herbert Batiste, Sr., Francis Pierre, Sr., Alvin Batiste, Sr., Jack Batiste, Sr., and Israel Batiste, Sr.; and his sister, Margaret Schnieder.
