Tyra Jackson, aged 55, was born on August 4, 1969, to the union of Cheryl Jackson Warren and Herman Perrian, Jr. in Bogalusa, Louisiana. She dedicated a significant portion of her professional life to the Bogalusa Medical Center, where she worked for five years.
From an early age, Tyra embraced her Christian faith and accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. She became a cherished member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, where she actively participated in the community.
Tyra had a vibrant personality and cherished social interactions. She found joy in spending time with others, engaging in card games, and sharing laughter. Her favorite color was purple, and she was an enthusiastic supporter of the New Orleans Saints, her beloved football team. Above all, she had an immense love for her grandchildren, who brought her great joy.
Tyra is survived by her fiancé, Christopher Rankins; her children, Richard (Ashley) Jackson, Rakheem Jackson, and her stepson, Christopher Allen; and her grandchildren, Rashawn Jackson, Brendon Magee, Elijah Jackson, and Reagan Magee-Jackson. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Allan New; her sisters, Monique Perrian and Melinda (Wilbert) Walker; and her close friend, Edrica Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her father, Herman Perrian; her mother, Cheryl J. Warren; her brother, Antoine Van; and her sisters, Sharunda Jefferson and Laflorida Perrian. Tyra's legacy will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
