Pamela Erica Cryer was born on June 16, 1934, to the union of Thomas Salmon Cowan and Alice Louise Cowan in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, West Indies. Pamela received her formal education from Nightingale Elementary School and St. Elizabeth High School in Jamaica. She furthered her education in London, England at Black Notley Nursing where she earned her nursing degree.
On February 2, 1963, Pamela married Leo F. Cryer and they resided in Jamaica, Great Brain and Louisiana, Pamela worked at Bossier Medical Center, Shumpert Hospital and Physicians and Surgeons Hospital. Pamela accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age and was united with Redemption Church. Her hobbies were reading and crocheting. She loved helping missions. Her favorite color was white.
Pamela leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband, Leo F. Cryer; her children, Jacqueline R. McGowan and Travis Cryer; her grandchildren, Patrick A. McGowan, Krystal R. Edwards, Dominique M. Gilford and Gabrielle B. McGowan; her great-grandchildren, Joshua McGowan Joseph McGowan, Isaiah Price, Caleb Price, Zoe Edwards, Aria Edwards and Elliott Gilford; and her brothers, Charles Cowan, Derrick Cowan, Neville Cowan, Thomas Cowan and Hiram Cowan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Salmon Cowan and Alice Louise Cowan; he grandparents, Alexander Cowan and Frances Cowan; her sister, Thorelle Ford, and her brothers, Bertram Cowan, Ronald Cowan, Winston Cowan, Ludlow Cowan and Anthony Cowan.
