Norman Bernard Ducre, Jr. peacefully entered eternal rest on August 14, 2024, at 9:02 am. Born to the late Norman “Blue Rooster” Ducre, Sr & Victoria Williams Ducre on January 21, 1950. “Blue” as he was affectionately known, was a lifelong resident of Slidell, La.
Blue attended St. Tammany High school where he met and married Linda Cloud; they were blessed with two sons, Norman and Tremaine. Blue began an early career in construction at Bernard Lumber Company before briefly attending Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. Upon his return to Slidell, Blue worked at Folgers Coffee Company under the supervision of Pastor Norman Farve. Blue eventually returned to construction working alongside his late brother-in-law, Ronnie Cloud, most times overseeing the crew and job site.
In his early days, Blue enjoyed recruiting and coaching neighborhood kids and organizing their little league baseball games, most times, the players were his son and friends, Blue was an avid pool player finding joy and competition in the game, while almost never losing. Blue had a love for cars, both old and new. Whether it was the sleek design of a modern vehicle or the charm of a classic car, he found joy in them all.
Blue is preceded in death by one brother, Emanuel Ducre; one sister, Develin Ducre; one niece Trynika Ducre; one nephew, Cedric Ducre.
Blue leaves to cherish his memory his two sons Norman “Goo” Ducre (Jami) and Tremaine Ducre; two daughters, Chanel Paige and Victoria “Tori” Page. One sister, Veronica Taylor(Robert); two brothers, Ronald Ducre (Colette); Christopher Ducre (Sherrie). HIs grandchildren Jasmine Ducre, Jani Ducre, Taryn Ducre, Ayden Ducre, Addison Ducre, Caden Ducre, Ava Owens, Kason Ducre, Mario Paige, Trinton Malveaux, Keirstan Paige, Toriannah Paige and Trinity Paige. His great-grandchildren Santana Bradford, Jasi Roberts & TyMari Paige. One Godchild, Tracy Calloway Woods. He also leaves to cherish his memory, 2 bonus grandchildren, Ethan Domino and Paris Strickland along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
