Landry Gousman

Landry Gousman was born on October 1, 1947 to Raymond and Alma Gousman, he was the eldest of four children. Landry departed this life on July 6, 2020 at the age of 72.
Landry was preceded in Death by his Parents, his grandparents , Henry and Anita Guzman; and Wallace and Lillian Ducre, his sister in law, MaryAnn Gousman, his granddaughter Marle Cyprian and his son in law, Israel “Jack” Batiste.
Landry leaves to cherish his memory: his daughters, Lisa Gousman Batiste (Israel), and Andrea Gousman, his grandchildren, Chase and Maddison Batiste, and Savion Cyprian; his three siblings, Andrew Gousman (MaryAnn). David Guzman (Brenda), Carolyn Gousman Jones(Tommy Lee), as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Landry was a member of the US Army and served in Korea during the Vietnam War. After completing military service, he briefly worked at NASA . In furthering his public service career, Landry was commissioned as one of the first black St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies.
Landry was a school bus driver for St Tammany Parish School Board and also proudly founded his own trucking Co. Gousman Trucking.
Landry loved to talk and share inspirational stories of life lessons with others. He was always willing to impart uplifting words of wisdom to anyone who needed them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace Tiger!
