June Alice France

June Alice France, 69, passed away on July 26, 2025, in Slidell, Louisiana. Born on January 10, 1956, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, she lived a life marked by compassion, creativity, and a deep love for her family and the natural world.

June dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.), serving the communities of Slidell and Lacombe with dedication and empathy. Her work in nursing reflected her nurturing spirit and unwavering commitment to helping those in need.

A devoted mother and grandmother, June is lovingly remembered by her sons Jeffrey France and Matthew France; daughters-in-law Billie Jo Dietz and Jackie France; and her cherished granddaughters Alexandra France, Annagrace France, and Samantha France. She also leaves behind her brothers Pete Cannon, Harry Cannon, and Charlie Cannon, along with numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

June was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ralph France; her twin brother Marshall Cannon; her parents Ilse and Charles Cannon.

Outside of her professional life, June found joy in artistic expression. A talented artist, she spent countless hours painting, drawing, and sewing—sharing beauty through every creation. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her passion for gardening and flowers. She had a special bond with animals and especially loved horses and horseback riding.

A funeral service to honor June’s life will be held at Honaker Funeral Home Thursday, August 7th 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

June Alice France will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her.
