Juanita Lovance Jones was born on July 6, 1949 to the union of Steve and Rebecca Turner in Covington, Louisiana.. Juanita received her formal education in Covington, Louisiana.
She furthered her education at Louisiana Technical College, earning her diploma in Upholstery on August 11, 2001 in Plaquemine, Louisiana. She made Slidell and Covington her homes.
Juanita had a generous spirit, frequently sharing items she may have purchased or had been given, to those in need. Her friendly nature made her approachable to everyone she ever encountered. Her dedication to caring for the disabled, sick, and elderly, as wellas her support for family and friends, reflects her compassion and sincere selflessness.
Juanita accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was united with Community Church, Covington, Louisiana. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandkids and great-grandchildren. Her favorite football team was the New Orleans Saints.
Juanita is survived by her life partner, James Walker, of Covington, Louisiana, her children Everett (Sharon) Turner of Covington, Louisiana, Christina (Gregory) Batiste of Pineville, Louisiana, Will (Stephanie) Jones III of Covington, Louisiana, and Michael (Cody) Martindale of Slidell, Louisiana, her granchildren Kim Penn, Alicia Washington, Gesha Batiste, Kevin Hartsfield, Greg Jr. Batiste, Alonzo Fisher, Gamal Batiste, Kayla Batiste, Edward Baham, and Jeremy Lloyd, her great-grandchildren Javonte Donaldson, Javari Donaldson, Major Batiste, Wynter Batiste, Amari Batiste, Ry’Lee Caffery, A’cyn Fisher, Cassius Hartsfield, and Dante Hartsfield. Juanita was preceded in death by her father, Steve Turner, Sr., and her mother, Rebecca Turner, by her brothers Steve Turner, Jr. and Andre Turner, and by her sisters Edell Jones-Hinton and Patricia Burkhalter, and by her grandaughter Megan Penn-Harrison.
