It is with profound sadness that the family of Jerry Penner announces his sudden passing on March 20, 2022.
We all have challenges and Jerry did his best to conquer his in his own way. His smile and quiet conversations when faced with obstacles showed his determination to overcome and reach a solution to whatever life threw at him. He took pride in his military service with the 756th Area Support Medical Company in the Louisiana Army National Guard. He applied his medical training in his everyday life and did not hesitate to share his knowledge with someone who could benefit from what he knew.
While Specialist Jerry Penner may not have shared these accomplishments with many, it is with pride and respect that we list his medals and ribbons earned from his honorable service. He went to basic training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina and advanced individual training at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas and earned the rank of Health Care Specialist. His medals and ribbons were these: Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, 2 Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, Louisiana General Excellence Ribbon, Louisiana Longevity Ribbon and a Certificate of Achievement for helping prepare the unit for their deployment in 2012.
Service will be held at West Marrero Baptist Church 605 Jung Blvd in Marrero, LA 70072 on April 16th at 11am. Please join us to celebrate the love in his remembrance.
