Griffin Tony Wilson Jr. embraced a new life in Heaven on Monday, January 3, 2021 at the age of 68. Griffin, affectionately known as “Peanut”, was born on June 30, 1952 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the union of Evelyn J. Wilson and the late Griffin T. Wilson Sr. Griffin accepted Christ into his life at the young age of nine at Second Zion Travel Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana, and rededicated his life to Christ as an adult. Aside from family and Christ, Griffin’s greatest devotion was to the military and later his career. He attended and graduated from Job Corp and thereafter made the decision to join the United States Army. Griffin’s experience in the Army played a very import role in his life. The discipline and love for travel he learned in the Army never left him, as friends and family will attest. After returning home from the Army, Griffin obtained a position with United States Postal Office in New Orleans, Louisiana as a clerk for many years until retirement. Griffin enjoyed watching the Gospel channel, listening to old school music and playing pool. Of all his enjoyments one of his greatest pastimes were sitting conversing with mom while watching CNN.
