Gary Gallo, Jr. Obituary

Gary Lamont Gallo Jr. was born on August 8, 1991, to Gary Gallo Sr. and Christina Marie Gallo Satoe in Dallas County, Texas. Gary departed this life on June 14, 2025, at Lakeview Hospital in Covington, Louisiana.

Gary attended and received his high school diploma in May of 2010 from Covington High School. He was a member of Covington High School's football and basketball teams, the captain of the Covington High School Chess Club, and a member of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps, also known as the "R.O.T.C.," for four years.

Gary was somewhat of a gun enthusiast; he loved firearms of all types, sizes, and shapes. He was very knowledgeable about guns and their history. He even managed to collect a few in his lifetime, which he cherished. He learned everything he could about the many different types of guns, rifles, pistols, etc. It didn't matter to him, he was just fascinated with guns, their proper use and their functions. He also loved watching old cowboy movies and would occasionally dress up in cowboy attire.

Gary worked various types of jobs in his lifetime, but his dream job was to work in law enforcement, which he was blessed to do. He was a Deputy Sheriff for the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Department. He later mainly worked security details as a security guard in St. Tammany and surrounding parishes.

Gary was very family-oriented; he loved his family and friends. He had the unique ability, along with a humble spirit, to attract many to him. He connected and reached out to others with compassion. Gary was loved and respected by those who came in contact with him. He was a giver. As a kid, his loving and devoted grandparents, Gable and Addie Lee Gallo, instilled the importance of family in him. Gary would save up his allowance to purchase Christmas and Mother's Day gifts for each of his aunties (all ten of them). It was a joy for him to hand out his gifts one by one to his aunties. He adopted his own acronym to describe his feelings for family, "FOE," which meant "Family Over Everything."

His grandparents also taught him the importance of a good religious foundation. Gary accepted the Lord at a young age and became a member of First Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop James Jerome Quillen. Proverbs 22:5 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Gary was a backslider, but thank God he never forgot his religious teachings. He rededicated his life to God before it was too late while on his hospital bed in 2024.

Gary leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life his beloved children, Zackary, Aiden, and Jamani Gallo; his father and stepmother, Gary Gallo Sr. and Brandi Gallo; his biological mother, Christina Marie Satoe; his devoted and loving grandparents, Gable and Addie Lee Gallo; his "TT", Felicia Gallo Hopkins, his uncle, Brian Hopkins, and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his half-brother, Keenan Dupart; his brother-in-law, Johnathan Brister; his great-grandparents, Cleveland Cox Sr. and Walter Lee Cox; three uncles, Walter James, Albert, and Cleveland Cox Jr; one cousin, Wanda Jean Anderson; and his nephew, Joshua Cox.
