Elvin (Pony) Waters

Elvin “Pony” Waters, my beloved spouse, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 21, 2026, aged 70. Elvin was born on January 30, 1956, to the union of the late Aaron Waters Sr. and Amelia (Rohman) Waters. He was a native of New Orleans, born at Charity Hospital. Elvin was a faithful member of Living the Word International Ministries, where he served in the Media Ministry as a cameraman. Lawrence and Chquita Weathersby were his faithful spiritual parents for over 22 years.

Elvin is survived by his beautiful and devoted wife, Marthenetha Howard Waters, of almost 30 years; his beloved children, Janine, India, Ronald Sgt. 1st Class (Corrina), Kimberly (the late Ahmad), and Kelly; his grandchildren, Jai, Heaven, Joseph III, Aerhmoni, Robert Jr., Rayne Kal'el, Harmiany; and great-granddaughter, Nazy. He is also survived by his devoted mother, Amelia (Rohman) Waters; sister, Wanda Scott (Jimmie); brother, Aaron Waters Jr.; sisters-in-law, Ovader (Jerol) and Cynthia Howard; Carolyn Waters; brothers-in-law, Alfred (Norma) and Karry (Veronica); aunts, Dorthy Paton and Ole Mae Parker; uncle, Billy Waters; and a host of nieces, nephews, and faithful friends. Elvin was an engineer for the City of New Orleans and known as the Governor of City Hall. He was loved and will be missed by many. May you rest in peace.
