Elias Johnson

Elias Johnson found eternal rest on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at the age of 80. Born in Alton,
Louisiana on April 7, 1942 to the late Raphield Johnson and late Laura Gillum-Johnson. He will forever be remembered as a loving father, Paw-Paw, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

Elias Johnson accepted Christ into his life as a teenager. He grew up attending Walkers Temple in Pearl River, Louisiana. Knowing the ways of the church, over the years Elias remained faithful in collecting and paying his tithes.

Elias joined the Navy January 31, 1962. Serving in the Navy for over four years gave him an
opportunity to see other countries but Louisiana was always home. Upon returning he worked as a self-employed Cement Finisher for several years before being hired on by the St. Tammany Parrish Public school. He worked as head custodian at Alton Elementary School in Alton, La before retiring after 22 years. Elias united with Dorothy Kelly-Johnson and they resided in their hometown of Alton, LA together for over 27 years prior to her passing. In Alton they raised their kids and made memories to be cherished with grandkids, nieces, nephews family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and wife along with five siblings, Archie L.
Green, Ed Moore Green Sr, Howard Johnson, Bernice Brown and Olivia Ridley. He leaves to
mourn his death three children: Lilt0on Jones Sr., Nicole Melone (Ernest) and DuJuan J Johnson (Maily). He leaves his older sister Lillian Johnson and brother, Joseph Johnson of Slidell, LA and Doretha King of Killeen, TX. He leaves eleven grandkids, Marcus, Sophia, Lilton Jr, Tasha, Kendall, Maliyah, Katana, Daunte, Dylan, Bradley and Felix Jr. He will be greatly missed by his special friend Mary Ann Wyatt.
