Cynthia C. DeVore was born on January 3, 1961 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the daughter of the
late Arthur G. H. DeVore, Sr. and Thelma N. Watson Sharp. She was the step daughter of the late Ethelda
Simon DeVore and James Sharp. She leaves behind her three children whom she loved dearly: Reginald
(Latisia) DeVore, Latoyah (Billy) Zacharie, and Sytillia (Kevin) Washington. She has four grandchildren
whom she adored: Sy’lai Gabriel, Calvin Watkins, Christopher and Khrisette Rideau and her Goddaughter
Timil Bush. She has eight siblings which two of them preceded her in death Thaddeus and Reginald
DeVore along with her nephew Yrian DeVore. She leaves precious memories of three sisters: Juanita
Dianne (Raymond) Collins, Darlene (Darrin) Mayes, and Natalie Sharp and three brothers: Arthur G. H.
DeVore, Jr., Randolph (Anastasia) Sharp and Joseph Sharp. A special friend and sister in law, Sonda Sharp
and her best friend Janice Watkins.
Cynthia was an advid cook, loved cleaning and was a caretaker to many children in the neighborhood.
She graduated from L.B. Landry High School in 1979. She was member of Jesus Is Lord Evangelist
Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Donald C. Williams. She loved spending family time with her
beautiful daughters and grandchildren who were the apple of her eyes.
On Thursday, January 30, 2025, Cynthia departed her earthly home and walked into heaven to be with the
Lord. She leaves to cherish her memories with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
