Cecila Yvonne Montana Fleming, 88, was born on June 24, 1932 to Joseph Montana and Remelia Batiste in Lacombe, Louisiana.
Yvonne received her formal education from St. Tammany High School in Slidell, Louisiana. She was married to James Fleming, Sr. and resided in Lacombe, Louisiana.
She worked at Lacombe Nursing Home and was also a domestic worker for over 40 years.
Yvonne accepted Christ as her Personal Savior at an early age and was united with Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. She visited many different churches, but this was home.
Yvonne loved to go to church and loved good music. Her motto was “to instill in her children to love their kids.” She loved gardening and spending time with here grandchildren. Her favortie color was brown. She was a dedicated mother, sister, aunt and friend.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her children, Leslie (Dewayne) Cousin, Gary Landor, Jessica Fleming, Ramona Fleming, Glenn Fleming, Ceola F. (Jerry) Collins, Amy Cryer, Delbert (Stephanie) Fleming and Jane Ross; twenty-four grandchildren; forty-two great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Ada Davis and Hazel M. (Leonard, Sr.) Cousizan; Godchildren, Juanesta Johnson, Zachary Casnave, Dwan Vander and Jermaine Burns; good friends, Laura Ducre & Wilma Ducre; special friends of the family, Kelvin Edgerson, Tommy Landor and Coradena Batiste and a host of nieces, nephews, and family friends.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, James Fleming, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Martin & Mary Montana; maternal grandparents, Antione & Antino Batiste; two grandsons, Travell Fleming, Sr. and Jamar Williams; two brothers, Buster Theodore Montana and Herman Montana, Sr.; five sisters, Laticia Ducre, Josephine Cousin, Alyce Burnette, Mary Young and Lorena Batiste; one Godchild, Helena Montana.
