Billy Joe Peterson

Billy Joe Peterson Sr. also known as “BJ” was born December 12, 1968 in Bogalusa, Louisiana to Delores Peterson and Harold Joiner Sr. Both parents preceded him in death. On April 23, 2023, the Lord sent down his angel to escort BJ to his heavenly home. His time in this earthly world had ended, and the beginning of eternal life begins…

BJ was educated in the St. Tammany Parish School System in Covington, La.  He worked for O’Keefe (Spencer’s) Feed and Seed in Covington, La for many years.

Billy Joe Peterson Sr. was preceded in death by parents Delores Peterson and Harold Joiner Sr., two brothers Jeffery Lee Peterson and Andrew Joiner, one sister Theresa Peterson. Maternal Grandparents Clara Peterson and Robert Peterson.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his devoted wife of 19 years Sarah Pitarre-Peterson; nine children McKenzie Peterson, Madison Peterson, Mason Peterson, Tristan Pitarre, Payton Nordin, Billy Joe Peterson Jr. Raven Peterson, Vanity Chappell, and Christopher Chappell; eleven grandchildren, four brothers Lincoln Peterson, Lee Curtis Peterson, Harold Joiner Jr, Darrell Joiner; seven sisters Betty Ann James (Billy), Gloria Peterson, Flora Silas (Gary), Lynette Bursh (Troy), Cynthia Peterson, Lakeshia Peterson, and Darlene Burney; one sister in-law Gail Richardson-Peterson, one Aunt Celia Ann Davidson, two Uncles Charlie  Peterson, and Isaac Peterson; one Great Aunt Geraldine White.  In-Laws Dominick Pitarre and Rebecca Pitarre, two brother in-laws David Pitarre and Tony Pitarre. He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other close relatives and friends.
