Arthur Alvin Laurant, Sr., aged 83, was born on November 1, 1941, to Vera Guyot Laurant and Johnny B. Laurant, Sr., in Mandeville, Louisiana. He completed his formal education at St. Tammany High School in Slidell, Louisiana, graduating in 1960, and subsequently pursued further studies at Southern University. In 1962, Arthur married his first wife, Carrie Harrison, with whom he had four children. He later married Katie Laurant in 1992. Throughout his life, Arthur resided in Louisiana before moving to San Francisco and Oakland, California, eventually returning to Louisiana after his retirement.
Arthur dedicated two decades of his career to Testing Engineers. He embraced his faith in the Holy Trinity at an early age. A passionate sports enthusiast, he enjoyed fishing and watching football, basketball, golf, and tennis.
Arthur is survived by his spouse, Katie Laurant; his children, Arthur Alvin Laurant, Jr. of Louisiana, Alicia Aileen Laurant of California, and Clarice Harriet Laurant of California; his grandchildren, Bailey Therese Manego, Leila Laurant Paige , and Anthony Lewis Cook, all from California; and his Godchildren, Edward Cousin, Jr. of Louisiana, Monique Laurant Rollins of Texas, and Matthew Winston of Texas. He is also survived by his siblings: Irma Cousin of Louisiana, Johnny Laurant, Jr. of California, Jon (Evelyn) Laurant of California, and Cheryl (Edward) Scott of Louisiana, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Laurant, Sr. and Vera Laurant; his children, Jules Mitchell Laurant and Blontae Cherice Laurant; and his brothers, Shovey Laurant, Stanley Laurant, and Baby Johnny Laurant.
